Ukraine: launch of AICS and AID project in support of Odessa Children’s Hospital

The project funded by AICS (Italian Agency for Development Cooperation) and implemented by AID (Defence Industries Agency) through the Pharmaceutical Institute of Florence on behalf of the Odessa Children’s Hospital, in the presence of the First Deputy Head of the Odessa Region Oleksandr Kharchenko, AICS-UA Director Pietro Pipi and AID Director General Fiammetta Salmoni.

Incubators, lung ventilators, resuscitation systems, multi-parameter monitors, stationary and portable ultrasound scanners, and mammography machines for the early diagnosis of cancer will be provided, and professional training is also planned.

‘This project will make us proud for the future of our children,’ said Deputy Head of Region Oleksandr Kharchenko.

Prof. Salmoni emphasised, ‘We are proud to be able to support Ukraine with humanitarian projects of fundamental importance such as this one.’ Finally, Director Pipi pointed out that, ‘Projects like this remind me why I chose this job and this position. The collaboration between two Italian government agencies is a mark of excellence recognised by our partners.’
