The V. 5800 are are naval vessels born from the demand of offshore units capable of operating even in unfavorable weather and sea conditions.
Designed by the Motomar Shipyard in 1979, on hulls of the British “Keith Nelson” type, with excellent marine qualities and great operational capabilities of a coastal patrol, they were built by numerous other shipyards.

V.A.I. 200

The V.A.I. 200 (Vedette Acque Interne) are small units with a fiberglass hull employed for institutional services in closed waters or near the coast, very agile and easy to maneuver. The naval units built in the F.I.A.R.T. shipyard in Naples constitute the second batch of this type of boats, which differed from the first for the use of the water jet “Castoldi 06” instead of the previous “Ototrasm”.

V.A.I. 500

Built in the naval shipyard of Serenella di Murano, the V.A.I. 500 (Vedette Acque Interne) are naval units used by the Italian Guardia di Finanza, made in mahogany wood and marine ply. They are characterized by one Volvo Penta petrol engine mod. 5.0 GL DP-S, one mod. 1830 navigation apparatus and VHF/FM telecommunications equipment.
