The P166-DP1 aircraft was built as a development of the P166-DL3 airplane, the first fixed-wing aircraft of the Guardia di Finanza used for medium-long range air-sea exploration.
The current and more performing DP1 version introduced substantial changes, starting with the installation of more powerful and higher performance engines (P&WC PT6A-121), a new refueling and fuel supply system, the equipment of new on-board avionics and a modern navigation system. Finally, the DP1 added a new mission system, with technologically advanced sensors and satellite communication apparatus.
Recently dismissed by the Italian Guardia di Finanza, additional technical specifications are available by logging in the Reserved Area.
