It is capable of manufacturing all types of ropes and other maritime equipment, such as rope ladders, flight-deck nets and also carries out tests on both raw materials(yarns) and end products(ropes). The handicraft manufacturing unit produces naval equipment which is unique in Italy.
The Castellammare di Stabia Rope Manufacturing Plant, a.k.a. Maricorderia, was set up in 1796 and is the first Italian plant of this kind, with a long-standing historical and maritime tradition.
